“…In a chamber controlled by a two-thirds Republican majority, the legislation is unlikely to advance or even get a hearing. The bill’s sponsor said yesterday that he knows Missouri is a very conservative state, but he still wants a dialogue on safety ‘…I am serious about some kind of control of weaponry. I am a realist, however, and am willing to accept some compromise,” said Rep. Rory Ellinger, D-St. Louis…Even though the prospects of passage are slim, GOP lawmakers are still criticizing the bill. “The only way this bill will pass is if a hammer and sickle is sewn onto Old Glory,” tweeted Rep. Caleb Jones, R-California…”
Ex-Los Angeles police officer Christopher Dorner is a double murder suspect. He admires Feinstein and Hillary Clinton! Where are the headlines in the hypocritical, humanist media identifying the alleged killer as a fan of these politicians? If he had written of his disdain for these women, these media outlets would be sure to identify him in that way, suggesting his rampage is linked to his conservative views.
“I will speak in more detail to what we’re going to go ahead and propose later in the week. But I’m confident that there are some steps that we can take that don’t require legislation and that are within my authority as president, and where you get a step that, has the opportunity to reduce the possibility of gun violence, then I want to go ahead and take it.”
In 1997, Luke Woodham bludgeoned his mother. Jeffrey Pyne (a former Michigan high school valedictorian) was recently found guilty for bludgeoning his mother. A homeowner in Houston was recently found bludgeoned with a blunt object. In Edinburgh, two teens were found guilty of killing their friend with a baseball bat. The list is endless. How long can we as a society continue to allow baseball bats and hammers and blunt objects? We are not living in the days of Leave It To Beaver. We are living at a time when only licensed carpenters and licensed baseball players should be permitted to own bats and hammers. It is clear that today, houses are filled with baseball bats. But they are not being used for sports and fun. They are under beds, behind curtains, in closets, behind doors, etc. They are used as self-defense in case of home invasion. And these assault bats are ending up in the hands of teenagers and troubled people. Where are the responsible citizens? Do you want to be the one who allows these assault bats and assault hammers to continue in the hands of average citizens? They are not needed for self-defense. The police are there for that. Of course, they continually stress that they have no legal responsibility to defend your life. But they will get to your house as quickly as possible. Keep your cell phone charged and make sure you dial 911 quickly. Then do not resist your invader. It might be dangerous. And whatever you do, turn in your assault bat and assault hammers. If these end up in the wrong hands, people can die.
Romney has now conceded a victory for Obama (at least on the basis of electoral votes). Mainstream Republicans are to blame – including the “Sean Hannity – Rush Limbaugh” types. Unwilling to get behind a candidate that could actually pull voters from both sides, mainstream Republicans (and “Christians”), once again went mad for the “lesser of two evils” (even pretending that Romney was conservative in his values), and they adopted a candidate that many Tea Party, and Constitutionalists could not in good conscience support. And by adopting a candidate that was not much different from Obama on core issues – they insured that Obama would remain in office. They alienated the pro-liberty, pro-Constitution element in their party, not realizing it had power to draw from both sides (at least on the issue of civil liberty).
“Texas won another battle against Planned Parenthood this week. A federal appeals court, on Thursday, refused to grant another hearing to the organization, a decision that stops the organization’s fight against Texas’ effort to ban state funding for Planned Parenthood affiliates. Texas Gov. Rick Perry applauded the decision, by the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals. “Today’s ruling affirms yet again that in Texas the Women’s Health Program has no obligation to fund Planned Parenthood and other organizations that perform or promote abortion. In Texas we choose life, and we will immediately begin defunding all abortion affiliates to honor and uphold that choice,” Perry said. The decision continues a legal struggle that has been going on for months…”
