http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-504763_162-57378291-10391704/sinus-infections-not-cured-with-antibiotics-study-suggests/

“(CBS) Sinus infection sufferers know the stuffy, congested feeling might not go away without a trip to the doctor’s office. But according to a new study, the antibiotics that doctors often prescribe for sinus infections might be no more effective than a spray or pill on drugstore shelves. The study raises concerns about drug resistance and whether doctors are too eager to dole out antibiotics for the common infection….”

COMMENTS:

Parents have already been warned against them for ear aches:

“When antibiotics are given, kids are a bit more likely to get another ear infection sooner. And each time a child takes a course of antibiotics, future infections become harder to treat…we have to treat between seven and 20 children with antibiotics for ear infections before one child benefits from the medicine.”
(Dr. Alan Greene, http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/03/25/navigating-the-earache/)

“(Reuters) – Pediatricians in the United States write more than 10 million unnecessary antibiotic prescriptions every year for conditions such as the flu and asthma, contributing to potentially dangerous drug resistance, a study said…But almost one-quarter of all antibiotic prescriptions were given to children with respiratory conditions that probably or definitely do not call for antibiotics, such as bronchitis, the flu, asthma and allergies. That translates to more than 10 million antibiotic prescriptions each year that likely won’t do any good but might do harm, said study leader Adam Hersh of the University of Utah in Salt Lake City…”
(http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/11/08/us-prescriptions-children-idUSTRE7A747G20111108)

It is time to learn that God through nature has given mankind powerful, amazing infection fighting foods, herbs and oils. Take some time to research garlic, cinnamon, olive leaf, the mints (thyme, oregano, hyssop, etc.), honey, clove, etc. These God-given substances do not weaken the body.

“Look! Up in the sky! Is it a bird? Is it a plane? It’s … a drone, and it’s watching you. That’s what privacy advocates fear from a bill Congresspassed this week to make it easier for the government to fly unmanned spy planes in U.S. airspace.

The FAA Reauthorization Act, which President Obama is expected to sign, also orders theFederal Aviation Administration to develop regulations for the testing and licensing of commercial drones by 2015…”

Comments:

Years ago, we warned of this type of totalitarian intrusions of privacy in a sermon called “Eye in the Sky.” The world is stage setting for Revelation 13.

“FBI Uses Chainsaw In Raid On Wrong Fitchburg Apartment -

FITCHBURG (CBS) – It’s going to be a while before things get back to normal for Judy Sanchez and her three-year-old daughter.

Last Thursday, a team of FBI agents swarmed her apartment building as part of a massive citywide drug and weapons gang raid. Trouble is, Sanchez lives in apartment 2R. The suspect they were after is in 2F. At 6:04 last Thursday morning, just before Sanchez’ alarm was set to go off, she heard a pounding outside her second floor apartment.

“I just happened to glance over and saw this huge chainsaw ripping down the side of my door,” she explains. “And I was freaking out. I didn’t know what was going on.”

Within moments, the chainsaw had cut through most of her door, and someone on the FBI’s arrest team kicked the rest of it in.

“That’s when I heard the clicking of a gun and I heard ‘FBI, get down!’, so I laid right on down.

And they said get your dog, so I got her and at the same time I am laying in her urine because she did pee on herself at the same time.”

That dog is the family’s three-month-old pit bull puppy.

Sanchez says they left her on the floor for 35 minutes, with her daughter screaming for her mommy in the other room…

Sanchez can’t believe that a two-year long federal investigation ended at the wrong door.

“The looks on their faces when they knew they got the wrong door was priceless,” she recalls. “They looked at each other dumbfounded’….”

COMMENTS:

This continues to occur in America at alarming rates. Often, it ends in cold-blooded murder. What would the Founding Father’s think about this situation in America? I doubt if there is a single one of these officials that raid people’s homes, that would not grab their own weapon if someone kicked in their own door! They say, “We identified ourselves.” This is moronic! How many cases have we seen in the news where THIEVES LIE? They say they are the police, etc. Who can be sure? This is a stupid situation. It is a tragic situation. Let these “manly” raids be used for EMERGENCY situations, where lives are in danger by kidnappers, killer gun-men, etc. In this situation, we will be thankful for their courage and training. But denying the Bill of Rights, and breaking down doors and killing people who simply try to defend themselves, and make sure they are not being raided by murdering rapists and thieves or some gang IS MURDER IN ITSELF. So we endorse murdering people to stop people from selling pot? Insanity. How often do these “mistakes” occur? Too often they end in the killing of the home-owner, or at the very least the family pet being shot. It is past time to stand up and protest this insanity in America that disguises itself as manliness. It is weakness. Innocent babies are being terrorized in the womb through abortion, and we have this epidemic of breaking down doors and threatening people over pot. Drugs are evil. So are thugs who scare little children.

http://www.latimes.com/health/boostershots/la-heb-added-sugar-tax-lustig-20120201,0,5626906.story

“In a provacative commentary coming out in Thursday’s edition of the journal Nature, Dr. Robert Lustig and two colleagues from UC San Francisco argue that the added sugars in processed foods and drinks are responsible for so many cases of chronic disease and premature deaths that their use ought to be regulated, just like alcohol and tobacco.

To those who view sugar as more of a treat than a poison – and especially to libertarian-minded people who oppose government regulation in general – Lustig’s proposal is certainly a nonstarter. Public health advocates have spent years trying to enact a soda tax to discourage consumption of added sugar, and none of their efforts is close to succeeding.

But if you set aside both political reality and your sweet tooth, you have to admit that Lustig makes some good points.

For starters, he and coauthors Laura Schmidt and Claire Brindis of the Philip R. Lee Institute for Health Policy Studies at UCSF aren’t claiming that sugar should be illegal or removed from the diet completely. They are focused on added sugars, which they define as “any sweetener containing the molecule fructose that is added to food in processing.”

In this country, most added sugar is in the form of high fructose corn syrup, of HFCS. But sucrose from cane sugar, sugar beets and other caloric sweeteners also would be subject to scrutiny.

Why? Because even the United Nations recognizes that the greatest threat to public health now comes from non-communicable diseases, including diabetes, heart disease and cancer. Together, these play a role in more than 35 million deaths each year. And they get a big boost from the choices people make about tobacco, alcohol and diet.

Of these three “risk factors,” only tobacco and alcohol are currently subject to regulation, the authors write. Of course, these differ from food in that they are not necessary for survival. But added sugars – and the items made with them – aren’t necessary either.

When it comes to alcohol, there are four criteria that justify government regulation, according to the 2003 book “Alcohol: No Ordinary Commodity”:

* It’s unavoidable in society.

* It’s toxic.

* It can be abused.

* It’s bad for society.

“Sugar meets the same criteria,” Lustig and colleagues write, “and we believe that it similarly warrants some form of societal intervention.”

The U.N.’s Food and Agriculture Organization says that in 2007, Americans consumed more than 600 calories’ worth of added sugar each day. And the damage it does goes beyond supplying empty calories. In fact, it may not be excess fat that causes diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure,non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and other manifestations of metabolic syndrome – there’s scientific evidence that suggests sugar itself is to blame. After all, 20% of obese people don’t have these diseases, but 40% of normal-weight people do.

“For both alcohol and tobacco, there is robust evidence that gentle ‘supply side’ control strategies which stop far short of all-out prohibition – taxation, distrbution controls, age limits – lower both consumption of the product and the accompanying health harms,” the UCSF trio writes. “Consequently, we propose adding taxes to processed foods that contain any form of added sugars’…”

COMMENTS:

I do not think bigger government is the answer. But it is plain, that cane sugar is a drug – an unhealthy poison. Use raw honey, or palm sugar, etc. to sweeten. HFCS and cane sugar are a free ticket to diabetes. This all does expose the hypocrisy of imprisoning so many Americans for “illegal” drugs, and regulating nicotine and alcohol, while leaving cane sugar and caffeine alone. The answer is to get the government out of the whole business. Communities may choose to regulate various things, but right now we have on one side, a drug-addicted, dying nation. Where are the pastors and moral leaders? Oh, many of them are addicted as well. On the other side, we have the U.S. taking the record among the nations for imprisoning its people. And most of these are drug related.

http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/M/ML_EGYPT_ANCIENT_CANCER?SITE=FLTAM&SECTION=HEALTH&TEMPLATE=

“CAIRO (AP) — A professor from American University in Cairo says discovery of prostate cancer in a 2,200-year-old mummy indicates the disease was caused by genetics, not environment. The genetics-environment question is key to understanding cancer. AUC professor Salima Ikram, a member of the team that studied the mummy in Portugal for two years, said Sunday the mummy was of a man who died in his forties. She said this was the second oldest known case of prostate cancer. “Living conditions in ancient times were very different; there were no pollutants or modified foods, which leads us to believe that the disease is not necessarily only linked to industrial factors,” she said…”

COMMENTS:

It is true that there were no chemicals and other pollutants in the ancient Egyptian environment. But the conclusions of Salima Ikram and other researchers are still very wrong. She concludes that the disease must be only genetic. What she misses is the DIET and lifestyle of the Egyptians. The Bible condemned their diet and sinful abominations. And God promises that if Israel obeyed, He would put none of the diseases that afflicted the Egyptians upon Israel. The Egyptians were known for using the most unclean animals in their food and medicine! They even used dung and rotten flesh. The Bible, in contrast, outlined clear laws for cleanliness, and mandated only clean animals for food. These modern researchers are in denial. You should see what they stick in the vaccines. Go ahead. Look it up for yourself.

“(Reuters) – When Patty Tegeler looks out the window of her home overlooking the Appalachian Mountains in southwestern Virginia, she sees trouble on the horizon.

“In an instant, anything can happen,” she told Reuters. “And I firmly believe that you have to be prepared.”

Tegeler is among a growing subculture of Americans who refer to themselves informally as “preppers.” Some are driven by a fear of imminent societal collapse, others are worried about terrorism, and many have a vague concern that an escalating series of natural disasters is leading to some type of environmental cataclysm.

They are following in the footsteps of hippies in the 1960s who set up communes to separate themselves from what they saw as a materialistic society, and the survivalists in the 1990s who were hoping to escape the dictates of what they perceived as an increasingly secular and oppressive government…”

To all Conservatives (Especially on Talk Radio): After electing the Bush’s, you are still going to fall for the same folly? If so, you deserve what you get. It is sad to say, but if you can’t obey Jesus and judge people by their fruits, if you are not wise enough to quit falling for the “lesser of two evil” stupidity – then you deserve the messes you make. I just hope your mouths are shut after you see the fruit of electing a Romney or a Gingrich, etc. I hope there will be real repentance. You are like the drunks that have to keep going back to the bottle after repenting. But this time you will be without excuse. You made your bed. You fell for the same old, worn out technique: “Look, the liberal media is demonizing me, doesn’t anybody care.” And to the rescue you go, mindlessly following the propaganda. The problem is that people have not been raised to actually think. These so-called conservative candidates do not say anything. They give soundbites and the puppies lick up their doggie-treats, but nothing is ever really said. What a sad state of affairs.

First Jon Huntsman presented himself as a Libertarian – professing policies in agreement with Ron Paul. But in the end, he shows his true colors and endorses Romney. Of course, they are both Mormons! This reveals that the whole thing was a charade. Next we have Rick Perry. He stated earlier, in reference to Gingrich, that if a man is not faithful with his wife, he cannot be trusted with a business partner. He implied Gingrich obviously is not fit to be president. However, now we learn that Perry is dropping out of the race and is endorsing Gingrich! This leads us to suspect that the whole thing is a game with these CFR, Bildeberger club types. They may have some initial competition, but the goal is make sure one of them from the same clubs, gets elected. This further implies that all the Christian talk, and moral talk, and even most of the small government talk, is just the sheep’s clothing the wolves use to get elected, so they can further their big government, socialist agenda (i.e. bringing all the corporations of the world under a single international order, etc.). Wake up S.C.
